The brief
After a number of successful projects completed with Stelling Properties over the last 7 years in Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester, we were tasked with providing clear wayfinding and boosting brand awareness for this brand-new luxury student accommodation in the heart of Guildford.
The timeline
Working with the customer’s project management team, we timed our installations to work around building schedules and make the most of our time on site at different stages of the building’s completion.
Our answer
Flexible working and unique design
The biggest challenge during this project was timing our design and production around a large-scale construction project; with it’s inevitable deadline shifts and adjustments to specifications as the build progressed.
This was overcome by working closely with the Stelling Properties team and being flexible in our production schedules with a good deal of contingency for revisions.
Building on a brand
From a design perspective, the products we provided needed to build on the overall Unilife brand, but also provide a unique experience for the residents of Riverside House, compared with other Unilife locations. Large scale maps of the local area and bespoke wall graphics were used to make this location feel one of a kind.

I really have enjoyed working with Elmtree on our recent projects in Guildford and Southampton. They have been incredible and flexible and really got us out of some tight squeezes.
